Cotham Hill in Bristol offers a dazzling array of culinary delights, as food from all around the world fight for your attention. One place that we have been trying sample for quite a while is Bravas, a small and always busy tapas bar. Well recently we finally managed to spot an empty table in the early evening crush and now we understand why the place is always so busy.
We weren’t massively hungry but were in the mood for something sweet, luckily Bravas offered the perfect solution. After a taster of some delicious thin strips of fried aubergine and molasses plus some lovely peppers with anchovies we moved onto the brilliant sharing desert tapas option.
From one platter, we worked our way though a fantastic baked cheesecake, caramelised almond meringue, orange & almond cake and couple of salted chocolate truffles. This came with a glass each of deliciously rich and warming Pedro Ximenez sherry. Perfection.
A word of praise to for the brilliant staff, in a small and very busy place they buzzed around quickly and efficiently, ensuring that everybody was well looked after. We shall return to investigate the main menu in more detail soon.
